Firemen extinguish fire in Ulysses

ULYSSES – A Ulysses home was badly damaged in a fire that began this afternoon around 2:00 pm.

The fire at the Wheaton residence on Baker Street resulted in multiple departments being called out, including Ulysses, Genesee, Harrison Valley and Coudersport. Other fire departments were dispatched to cover those stations which responded to the blaze.

At the time of the fire, witnesses reported heavy smoke showing from the home. Firemen who responded to the scene reported flames showing. Dispatch reports indicated firemen quickly began an exterior attack on the fire, which engulfed the home, as seen in these photos.

The home was reportedly unoccupied at the time of the fire.

No official information in regards to the fire has been released yet. This article will be updated once it becomes available.
