72-Year-Old Man Rolled Pickup, Fled Scene with Passenger

SWEDEN VALLEY – Police say a 72-year-old Coudersport man faces numerous charges after he rolled his 1999 Ford F-150 pickup truck yesterday on the North Hollow Road and then fled the scene with his passenger.

The accident occurred as 72-year-old Johnny Patrick Amato, of Coudersport, PA, was traveling South on the North Hollow Road. Police say Amato’s truck traveled off of the roadway and then up an embankment before flipping over onto it’s roof in the middle of the road. The truck then continued to skid 291 feet down the roadway before coming to a final rest in the middle of the road.

Police say Amato and his passenger, 43-year-old Agnes M. McGlinchey, of Coudersport, PA, then fled the scene of the accident.

McGlinchey was later located by police at her residence and Amato later turned himself in at the Coudersport police station.

The truck suffered severe rollover damage in the accident and was towed from the scene by Kightlinger Motors.

McGlinchey faces charges for having an open container and filing false police reports.

Police say Amato faces numerous citations in District Court 55-3-01, which were not available at the time of this posting.

Coudersport Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance services assisted at the scene as well as Coudersport Borough police.
