Aubrey Wilson, 85, of Bradford

Aubrey Wilson, 85, formerly of 105 Oakwood Ave. passed away Saturday, March 19th, 2011 at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.

Born October 18, 1925, in Canton OH, he was a son of the late Clarence and Sarah (Slay) Wilson. He attended Limestone schools.

On August 28, 1965 in Limestone he married Alice E. “Betty” (Falconer-Redington) Wilson who died on April 27, 1999.

On September 16, 1943 he enlisted in the United States Navy, he later joined the United States Army and served in both WWII and the Korean War. He was honorably discharged after more than 20 years of service.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 17, the VFW, American Legion, and the Eagles Club.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator at Bollers Construction Company in New York, Richmond VA and Southern MD. After his retirement, he enjoyed working at Bill Rounsville’s Gravel Pit and delivering vehicles for Fairway Ford.

Surviving are five daughters: Michelle (Chris) Kuna of Bushkill, Colleen Kresky of Harrisburg, Mary Pat (Joe) Gill of Titusville FL, Karen (Jim) Manges of Bradford, and Christine (Dan) Minich of Custer City, two sons Davis (Luann) Redington of Bradford and Charles (Barbara) Wilson of Derrick City, one sister, Martha Park of Warrenton MO, 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one daughter Diane L. Tingley who died November 12, 1997.

Family will be receiving friends on Tuesday March 22, 2011 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. East Main St. where funeral and committal services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday with Rev. W. LeRoy Beckes, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Bradford Ecumenical Home, the First Presbyterian Church or the charity of the donors choice.
