Police Apprehend Suspect in High Speed Chase

Man trashes Friendly Inn before leading police on high speed chase

At approximately 11:30 pm Saturday night police reported they were in pursuit of a Ford pickup truck on Rt. 607 heading towards Keating Summit. The driver continued on to Rt. 155 towards Emporium, and then on to Rt. 120 Southbound at which time police reported the driver in custody at about 11:50 pm.

The hot pursuit involved several police departments, and warranted Emporium putting an ambulance on standby.

According to several unconfirmed sources the suspect was celebrating his 21st birthday at the Friendly Inn in Roulette, and became combative after the bar refused to serve him more alcohol.  It is said that he “trashed the bar” before the pursuit began.
