Crop Production/Pesticide Meetings In Ulysses, Port Allegany

famrfieldTwo programs geared toward agricultural producers and others interested in farming are scheduled in Ulysses and Port Allegany.

On Monday, Jan. 10, Potter County Conservation District will hold its annual Crops and Planting Clinic at the Ulysses Firehall, with doors opening at 9 and classes beginning at 9:30. Attendees will be eligible for Pennsylvania or New York pesticide recertification credits. Nutrient management credits have also been approved. Local vendors display their products and services. Cost is $15, including lunch. Walk-ins are welcome.

On Friday, Feb. 4, McKean County Conservation District will hold its Crop Production and Winter Pesticide Update Meeting at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church Hall in Port Allegany, starting at 1 pm. Those attending must register no later than Jan. 28 by calling Judy Eckert at Cooperative Extension, 274-8540. There will be updates on nutrient management, no-till systems/weed control, vegetable pest populations and trends, pesticides and the environment, natural pesticides and allelopathy, and the Potter/Cameron Counties’ CHEMSWEEP.
