Driver Charged after Attempting to Elude Sweden Twp. Police

SWEDEN VALLEY – A New Albany, PA man will be charged in District Court 55-3-01 (Annette Easton), after he allegedly attempted to elude Sweden Township Police.

Police say 23-year-old Adam Denault was driving a 2008 Dodge Avenger SDN East on Route 6, when he turned onto Roberts Road (a dead-end), after noticing a marked patrol car turn around behind him. Denault was clocked at 60 mph in a 35 mph speed zone, according to police.

Police say Denault later admitted to accelerating away from police in attempt to evade them, saying he could not afford a speeding ticket.

Denault will be charged with Fleeing/Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, Reckless/Careless Driving, and Speeding.
