911image1Potter County Department of Emergency Services continues to monitor flooding across the county and is issuing periodic reports to emergency coordinators on weather forecasts and related conditions.

Flooding is worse to the west and southwest of Potter County, according to officials, but the impact is increasingly being felt locally. Most recent developments are as follows:

  • Tri-Town Fire Company has opened its firehall in Ulysses as a shelter for evacuees.
  • Roulette Firehall and Township Building are open for evacuees. Roulette Emergency Operations Center has issued a voluntary evacuation notice to residents in low-lying areas, as the Allegheny River is expected to continue rising for several hours.
  • Coudersport Senior Center on South Main Street will be closed today due to flooding.
  • Roulette, Austin and outlying areas are experiencing flooding. Several roads have been closed, including but not limited to parts of Reed Run Road, Railroad Avenue, Main Street, Fishing Creek and Lananger Creek (all in Roulette area); and West Bingham Road.
