HARRISBURG – Two bills that would make English the official language of Pennsylvania were the topic of a House State Government Committee hearing held Wednesday in Harrisburg.
Rep. RoseMarie Swanger (R-Lebanon), sponsor of one of the pieces of legislation, said her bill does not require anyone to learn English, but it does require all official business conducted by state government to be done in English.
