Fire Destroys Cuba Home

CUBA – Two residents got out safely, but lost their Jackson Hill Road home in a fire, firefighters said.

Firefighters were toned out at 3:39 a.m. Saturday. Aside from Cuba, the Friendship, Clarksville and New Hudson fire departments and the District 1 FAST Team responded to the scene. Hinsdale firefighters were on standby in Cuba, Belmont was on standby in Friendship and Portville was in Clarksville.

Cuba firefighters were back in service at 10:54 a.m. Cuba Fire Chief Randy Snyder could not be reached for comment Saturday.

Clarksville Fire Chief Scott Sharp said the house was a total loss. He said he did not have the name of the family living there. Investigators were still trying to find the cause, he said.
