Girl Accused of Knife Attack Pleads Not Guilty

Girl ‘stabbed while sticking up for bully’

OLEAN – A 16-year-old Olean girl accused of stabbing another girl in the face in November has pleaded not guilty in Cattaraugus County Court, as reported by the 1490NewsBlog.

Destiny Bellaus was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon after she allegedly stabbed her victim in the face.

Police say the victim, who was sticking up for someone being bullied at the time, may have a scar on her face for life. The victim’s father said his daughter needed more 100 stitches to her face. Witnesses said she was cut from ear to chin in the attack.

The case was adjourned for motions.
