Gov. Corbett Signs 7 Bills into Law

Governor Tom Corbett Wednesday signed into law the following bills:

House Bill 10 (P.N. 1957) – This bill amends the act of April 6, 1956 (1955 P.L. 1414, No. 465), known as the Second Class County Port Authority Act, to

expand the Public Utility Commission’s jurisdiction to include regulation of all transportation services, excluding services provided by or for the Port Authority, in counties of the second class. It also makes other changes.

House Bill 165 (P.N. 3560) – This bill amends section 5511 of Title 18, 18 Pa.C.S. (Crimes and Offenses), further providing for the offense of cruelty to animals.

House Bill 804 (P.N. 3561) – This bill amends section 4503 of Title 42, 42 Pa.C.S. (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure), to provide that a person who has previously served for a term of 18 months on a statewide investigating grand jury be exempt from jury duty if they opt not to serve.

House Bill 1237 (P.N. 1356) – This bill amends section 2706 of Title 34, 34 Pa.C.S. (Game), to provide for hunting licenses for the Pennsylvania National Guard and Reserve Component members. It decreases the required period of time an eligible person must have served overseas in order to receive a reduced license fee from 180 consecutive days to 60 consecutive days for both license types.

Senate Bill 1472 (P.N. 2066) – This bill makes an appropriation from the State Employees’ Retirement Fund for the expenses of the State Employees’ Retirement System Board for the 2012-13 fiscal year.

Senate Bill 1473 (P.N. 2067) – This bill makes an appropriation from the Public School Employees’ Retirement Fund for the expenses of the Public School Employees’ Retirement System Board for 2012-13.

Senate Bill 1474 (P.N. 2068) – This bill makes appropriations from the Professional Licensure Augmentation Account (PLAA) and from restricted revenue accounts of the State Board of Medicine, the State Board of Osteopathic Medicine, the State Board of Podiatry and the Athletic Commission within the General Fund to the Department of State for use by the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs for 2012-13 in support of the professional licensing boards.

Senate Bill 1475 (P.N. 2069) – This bill makes appropriations from a restricted revenue account within the General Fund and federal augmentation funds to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission for 2012-13.

Senate Bill 1476 (P.N. 2070) – This bill makes an appropriation from a restricted revenue account within the General Fund to the Office of Small Business Advocate in the Department of Community and Economic Development for 2012-13.

Senate Bill 1477 (P.N. 2071) – This bill makes appropriations from restricted revenue accounts within the State Gaming Fund and from the State Gaming Fund to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, the Department of Revenue, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Office of Attorney General for 2012-13.

Senate Bill 1479 (P.N. 2073) – This bill makes an appropriation from a restricted revenue account within the General Fund to the Office of Consumer Advocate in the Office of Attorney General for 2012-13.
