Leo J. Chimenz, 91, of Port Allegany, died Friday (December 17, 2010) in the Lakeview Senior Care & Living Center, Smethport.

He was born Apr 26, 1919 in New York, a son of John and Tillie Simmons Chimenz. On May 24 1970 in Maryland, he married Joan M. Stoker, who survives.

He was a Veteran the U.S. Army serving during World War II. Leo was a Construction Representative for US Government. He was a member of St Gabriel’s Church and the Disabled American Veterans McKean County Chapter #72.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by:
One daughters: Carol Cognato of Smithtown (Long Island), NY,
Two step daughters Joellen Wykoff of Port Allegany, PA, and Barbara Smoker of Sarasota, FL
Two step sons: Stephen Smoker and Robert Smoker both of Port Allegany, PA
one sister: Mildred Trepeta of Clearwater, FL
2 Grandchildren, 2 Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Leroy Chimenz.

Following Mr. Chimenz wishes there will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, December 20, 2010 at11:00am in St Gabriel’s Catholic Church with the Rev. James Campbell, Pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in the St Gabriel’s Cemetery, Port Allegany.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., Port Allegany.
