Nonprofit Awarded PA Department of Health Contract for Tobacco Control

Contract will provide resources to help individuals stop smoking in Potter and Tioga counties among others

Clinical Outcomes Group, Inc., (COGI) a 501 c 3 nonprofit health and social service organization located in Pottsville and Northumberland Counties has been awarded a contract from the Pennsylvania Department of Health to administer tobacco control funding in the DOH North Central Community Health District. Counties include: Bradford, Centre, Clinton, Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Potter, Snyder, Sullivan, Tioga, and Union Counties. Additionally COGI serves Schuylkill County and other regions throughout Pennsylvania.

The purpose of the contract is to provide the DOH North Central Health District with the professional and financial resources to reduce adult and youth tobacco use, prevent youth initiation of tobacco, protect non-smokers from exposure to tobacco smoke pollution, and reduce tobacco-related health disparities.

Any individual interested in quitting tobacco can receive free cessation services by contacting our office at 1-800-264-1290. Additionally, any business interested in offering tobacco cessation services to their workforce can receive free on-site seminars to improve the health of their workforce.
