SHARON TWP. – A Shinglehouse man was life-flighted by Medevac helicopter after a crash on Route 44 early Saturday morning.

Police say 22-year-old Garrett J. Fosmer was driving under the influence of alcohol when his 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 ran off the road, went over a grass mound and then continued approximately 150 feet before striking a ditch and coming to rest.

Fosmer suffered major injuries in the crash and was flown to Altoona Regional Health Center for treatment.

He will be charged with DUI and other traffic-related summary offenses as a result of the crash.
