Man Gets Probation for Damaging Vehicle

COUDERSPORT – A Coudersport man has been sentenced to 12 months of probation for damaging a car.

Derek L. Stout, age 25, was sentenced in Judge Stephen Minor’s courtroom on June 6.

Stout was arrested in April of this year after State Police responded to a reported disturbance on Elk Street in the Borough of Coudersport.

Police later determined that Stout had become intoxicated at a party and refused to leave after being asked to. Stout then assaulted a vehicle outside, causing damage to the hood and fenders.

In addition to probation, Stout was ordered to pay $2,434.46 in restitution, $350 in fines, ordered to perform 15 hours of community service, attend AA and/or NA meetings as required for 6 months, take part in a Victim Impact Panel Presentation and have no contact with his victims.

The case was prosecuted by the Potter County District Attorney’s office. Stout was represented by William Hebe, Esq. Judge Stephen Minor benched the case.
