PSP Release Details in Wellsboro Murder
1 min readWELLSBORO – Mansfield-based State Police have released details surrounding the stabbing death that occurred on Tuesday, in Wellsboro.
Police say 26-year-old Matthew Priset, of Wellsboro, entered a residence at 41 Wolf Run Road in Delmar Township, Tioga County, PA, at 10:36 pm on Tuesday night.
After entering the residence, Priset engaged in a fight with 28-year-old Clinton A. Perry. Priset is accused of stabbing Perry multiple times during the altercation, before being confronted by 53-year-old Rene Perry, who entered the room with a firearm.
Priset managed to strip the firearm from the woman’s grasp and fled the home with the gun.
Mansfield State Police responded to the scene with medical personnel. Upon arrival, it was determined that Perry was deceased.
Police later made contact with Priset at his home and arrested him on charges of Criminal Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Burglary, and Theft.
Priset was arraigned before on-call District Judge James Carlson, and was remanded to the Tioga County prison with no bail.
