  1. this is an on going issue in our small country town. Nobody believes there is a huge problem with drugs here and our fine law enforcement(namely, Chief of police) fail to do anything about it. He knows who the people are and fails to attempt to stop the influx into our community. He spends more time stopping speeders and drinking coffee at the local conveinience stores that putting that effort into the drug problem here.

  2. Well I moved here 3 yrs ago to help my parents & to get away from the hustle & busle of anything close to crime. But it seems the more outback I
    go the worst it is. I do believe out of every 10 cars I pass 8 are drunk, high or on something. BUT I also feel for State Police so few in a wide area. And maybe sitting on some crimes they just cann’t get to all that is needed for convictions. If more people would step up insted of wacthing
    all this crap go down,this little town that I truely come to love & enjoy would be a cleaner place. So if know one makes a call to help the {Chief}
    its not his fault nor anyone else. It is those who fail to help stop crime and
    give OUR GUYS that work for next to nothing a heads up instead of complaining that there sitting on there butts.

  3. First off, I have grown up in Galeton, lived here just about all my life, and I cannot recall a time when there has ever been heroin in town or know of someone who OD’d on Heroin. Seriously. It’s not my job to inform the cop of who is doing drugs. Why would they believe you if you did anyways. The borough cops we have now are a waste of tax dollars and space. They complain because they don’t get paid enough. Well they had to buy that vehicle they have now, since the other vehicle wasn’t fast enough. Give me a break.

  4. See now there’s the problem with this country. Like that woman that fell in the fountain because she wasn’t paying attention because she was texting and wants to sue the mall like it’s their fault. Easy to say addiction is a disease, like it’s something you catch like it’s not your fault. Nobody wants to take responsibility anymore for their actions. I’m not saying people with addiction don’t need and deserve help but they need to accept responsibility for their actions and the results of those actions.

  5. True galeton has a lot of hard working people but there are also a lot of drugs why is it if yu work in a factory you have random drug testing but not if you work in the school or in the borough such as a police officer? I do belive that the police have been notified of the drug problem and the sources. so then they tell the users and the buyers It is very scary and someone will get killed over this before it is over. It is not good to be threatend by a user. I thinjk we sould do some drug testing in the school and law enforcement.

  6. okay listen here. im gonna say one thing. the cheif of police in galeton does not do his job! If i were speeding around town id get a ticket. if a nice young female got pulled over the big cheif of police would let her go. I know from experience. i have alot of girl friends that have told me that hes let them go and that he always hits on them. the old dirty sob.its not right. and he should be removed from the cheif. he should not even be aloud to be a cop period.

  7. on the last comment that is very mnuch true. I am a female and ive been pulled over by the cheif of police a few times. hehe. and he has let me go on every ocation. But its a good thing for us girls.

  8. Okay, ‘Dr. Phil’ 🙂

    I let your 1:00 pm comment through, but it’s very borderline. Just a friendly reminder: we have a strict commenting policy here in that if readers wish to post anything that is negative towards an individual or organization, they must use their real name.

    Obviously we all know your real name is not Dr. Phil 🙂

    With that said, allow me to make a suggestion; If you truly feel that your town officer is biased and not performing his duties properly, you should attend some local meetings. Let your local Borough council know your feelings. Call your town Mayor.

    Thanks for reading CoudyNews Dr. Phil! 😉

  9. To you all that think our town police don’t do their jobs, well maybe we should feel lucky that they try to work with us and not be *****…. Because I’m sure if they wanted to be ***** they could and what then……we all be crying….These drugs are all over and it is the sign of the times…….but hey good luck to all and hope you don’t the gestapo on a bad day……
