MILLS – A Harrison Valley man was arrested and jailed after he fired a rifle into the ceiling of an apartment during the course of a domestic altercation.
State Police say that on March 3 they responded to a report of domestic violence that occurred at the Wentzell apartment building at the intersection of Route 49 and Marsh Creek Road in Harrison Township.
Police say 36-year-old John Huggler, of Mills, PA was heavily intoxicated when he became involved in a physical altercation with a known 33-year-old female at a location along Route 49 in Harrison Township, PA.
Huggler is accused of disrupting traffic in the roadway, and then returning to the apartment building with the woman and retrieving a rifle from a gun cabinet. He then discharged one round into the ceiling of the apartment.
Huggler is also accused of damaging equipment at the apartment building belonging to Verizon.
Police were able to subdue Huggler after arrival, but he was later transported to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital as he was reported to be unresponsive at the time.
Police say victims of the incident included five small children, ranging in ages from 3 years to 11 years.
Huggler has been charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied structure(F3), 3-counts of endangering the welfare of a child(M1), 3-counts of recklessly endangering another person(M2), harassment(S), criminal mischief(S), disorderly conduct(S) and public drunkeness.
He was arraigned in front of District Judge Delores G. Bristol and remanded to the Potter County Jail in lieu of $100,000 straight bail.
well he got what he deseved. there are to many people out there with guns that are totally irresponsiable!! and to have guns around that many children is just wrong
It is nice to see that one DJ can put him away with a high bail. Easton likes to take it easy, such as the women who sold narcotics for a year plus, and was out on 100.00.
