Summer Reading began on June 13th with the over-all theme of “Dream Big- Read!”. We had 32 children registered the first week and discussed “Dreams & Wishes”. Week two was all about nocturnal animals and we had a visit from Bwana Jim and his animals. Our guest reader that week was Katie Duell. Week three brought about a visit from Bonnie Surra who taught us all about stars and space. Sarah Rhodes visited to read to the children. Summer reading will resume on July 11th with remaining topics of monsters, s’more fun campfire and pajama party. Check out pictures of the fun we’ve had on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ovmlibrary.

Fran Fox retired at the end of June after 14 years of service to the Oswayo Valley community as assistant librarian. She is really going to be missed, especially by her story hour attendees.

The library’s book discussion group will meet June 30th at noon and we will be discussing The Faith Club. There are plenty of copies available, so stop by the library and pick one up. We would love to have you join us!
The Stitch Together Knit and Crochet group continues to meet every Monday and Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. They are always happy to add new members! If you don’t knit or crochet, there’s always someone available and willing to teach!

A memorial was given by Gas Field Specialists in memory of Delores Evingham.
