PHOTOS: Crews Remain on Scene of Huge Fire in Cuba


CUBA, NY – Crews from all over Allegany County are still on the scene of a huge fire that broke out overnight in the Village of Cuba.

Allegany Emergency dispatchers say flames broke out from the St. James Hotel on East Main St. shortly after 3 AM.

    There were fire crews from Cuba, Rushford, New Hudson, Houghton, Wellsville, Westons Mills, Hindsdale, Clarksville, Belfast, Friendship, Allegany, Portville….

    “This was the oldest building in Cuba. Original structure built in 1835 by General Calvin T. Chamberlain. It was the oldest public house in Allegany County. Sad day for Cuba”. – Dave Crowley (Cuba Historian) via Facebook (Cuba, NY).
