More than 140 families are rolling into Potter County with horse trailers in tow this weekend for Sunday’s (Aug. 19) 4-H District VIII Horse Show at the Potter County Fairgrounds in Millport. Potter County’s qualifiers will be joined by riders from Cameron, Clearfield, Elk, Jefferson and McKean counties. Anyone who’s interested in horses or just wants to see what a horse show is all about is welcome. Exhibitors such as Potter County’s Sabrina Williams will compete in riding and in-hand events. Top two placings in each class will earn the right to move on to the 4-H State Horse Show in Harrisburg in October. The show begins at 8:30 am and will run until 7:30 pm. Food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided by the Potter County Fair Board. There is no charge for admission or parking. For more information on the 4-H riding program or any of the dozens of 4-H project opportunities, contact the Penn State Extension office of Potter County at (814) 274-8540 or on the web at http://extension.psu.edu/potter.
