Ridgway Man Dead after Falling from Burning Third Story

RIDGWAY – A Ridgway man is dead following a fire on Main Street Saturday morning.

Forty-five-year-old Timothy Keyser died after he fell from a third story window while waiting to be rescued from the burning building.

Keyser was pronounced dead at Elk Regional Medical Center. Officials list the cause of death as blunt force trauma to the chest and abdomen.

Another man, 62-year-old Everett Fowler, was life-flighted to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment of burns and smoke inhalation.

Several others suffered minor injuries in the blaze.

The building that caught fire contained eight apartments, the Ling Ling Chinese Restaurant and Aiello’s Land Development Center.

Damages are estimated at $750,000.

Investigators still do not know the cause of the fire, but believe it to be accidental.
