Ronald W. ‘Bud’ Sugden, Jr., 64, formerly of Whitesville, NY

Houghton, N.Y. — Ronald W. “Bud” Sugden, Jr., 64, formerly of Whitesville, passed away Saturday (Aug. 6, 2011) at Absolut Care of Houghton, surrounded by family.

Mr. Sugden was born on Nov. 26, 1946, in Wellsville, to Ronald W. and Dorothy E. (Stuck) Sugden. On April 12, 1969, in Genesee, Pa., he married Jean Marie Easton, who predeceased him on Aug. 18, 2008.

Ronald worked for Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in Coudersport, Pa., for 22 years until his retirement in 1995.

In addition to his father, he is survived by a daughter, Stephanie (Kevin) Morton of Belfast; three sisters, Bonnie (Joe) Perry of Virginia Beach, Va., Judy (Lewie) Jackson of Wellsville, and Barbara (Earl) Hartlaub of Ulysses, Pa.; a brother, Donald (Melissa) Sugden of Whitesville; three grandchildren, Chelsea Morton, Jason Morton and Cassie Morton; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his wife, Jean Marie Sugden, he was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy E. Sugden.

Bud was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting, but above these, he cherished the times spent with his family and friends.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 1-3 p.m. at the Solid Rock Bible Church in Hickox, Pa. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the church, immediately following the visitation, with Rev. Mel Ternes officiating. Burial will follow in Genesee Cemetery in Genesee, Pa.
