The Coudersport Rotary Club held its annual picnic at Mitchell Park this year in an attempt to experience the park first hand, before committing itself to any revitalization and/or enhancement projects to be performed to the park by the Club this Spring, according to Karen Cahilly, Rotary Club President.

Although the Coudersport Rotary Club may be best remembered for installing the plastic play gym located at CARP Park, the Club has actually spent most of its time and energy, over the past several years, on maintaining and enhancing Mitchell Park.

Mitchell Park provides a variety of playground equipment for the youth in the area, as well as a picnic pavilion, various grills and a bache court.  According to Cahilly, “My personal opinion is that, the duck lookout area and nearby nature trail are two features unique to Mitchell Park which could be further developed so that our young and old continue to have a place to reconnect with nature without leaving town.”

The Rotary Club is scheduled to repaint picnic tables and playground equipment at the park over the next two weekends, weather permitting, and plans on performing its larger-scale projects next Spring.  Anyone with an interest in participating on the Coudersport Rotary Parks Revitalization and Enhancement Committee should contact Karen Cahilly directly at (814) 203-3933.  Earmarked donations are also being accepted by the Club.
