Judge denies bail for Snyder and wife

COUDERSPORT – According to court records, District Magistrate Delores G. Bristol yesterday denied bail in the case against David Snyder at a Preliminary Arraignment Hearing.

Snyder is currently incarcerated in the Potter County Jail on multiple Felony charges including four counts of delivery of cocaine, four counts of conspiracy to deliver cocaine, one count of possession with the intent to deliver cocaine, one count of possession with the intent to deliver heroin, one count of conspiracy to possess with the intent to deliver cocaine and one count of dealing in proceeds of unlawful activity.

The charges stem from an investigation that began in 2005, when undercover agents allegedly purchased ounce quantities of cocaine from Snyder and his associates.

A Special Prosecutor from the Attorney General’s office, Patrick F. Leonard, Esq., will come to Potter County to manage the case against Snyder and fellow defendants.

Snyder’s wife, Tara Snyder, who was charged with one count of possession with the intent to deliver cocaine and one count of conspiracy to possess with the intent to deliver cocaine, was also denied bail following a Preliminary Arraignment yesterday at 1:30 pm in the same courtroom.

Two other defendants who were charged in connection with the drug distribution ring, Rich L. Pratt, 57, of Whiteville, NY, and Greg D. Lampman, 52, of Ulysses, PA, who were both charged with one count of possession with the intent to deliver cocaine and one count of conspiracy to possess with the intent to deliver cocaine, were released from jail on $15,000 unsecured bail.

Donna L. Gibble, 42, of Genesee, PA, remains incarcerated after failing to post $25,000 straight bail. She was also charged with Perjury in addition to one count of criminal conspiracy to possess with the intent to deliver cocaine.

No further information was available concerning Jorge Stuart, who was listed as the main supplier of drugs from New Jersey.

  1. To anonymous # 2…….So you think they should just let Snyder go???? You’re obviously someone who “knows” what’s going on or you would have a different attitude towards a man who has been “alleged” to have sold 2 mil. worth of cocaine and heroin to other people’s children, while having children of his own. This will be a very sad and hard time for his children, but ultimately may be a blessing in disguise to get them away from that atmosphere. And if you think he should be considered innocent..where is your name???

  2. This is America. I’m no lawyer or judge for that matter but I do understand that “alleged” means not proven. I’ve read about six articles about Mr. Snyder and his “alleged” indiscretions. He may be guilty, but the burden of proof is on the Prosecution. It seems to me that the same people who are pointing fingers at Snyder are scumbags who are in jail due to similar offenses. Doesit make them better? Do they all the sudden get an easier sentence because they will say anything?
The truth will come out. Until then lets try to be adults. Remember that the idea behind the judicial system IS innocent until proven guilty. Not the other way arounds.
