Tioga Woman Killed in Crash Tuesday

TOWANDA – A Tioga woman was killed in an accident on the Sheshequin River Road, at approximately 3:14 pm, Tuesday.

Police say 20-year-old Tiffany L. Frost was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier South on Sheshequin River Road, when a Heavy Duty Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 49-year-old Steven Heitzenrater of Elkand, traveled through a stop sign and struck her car.

Police say Heitzenrater was descending a steep grade on Ghent Road when he failed to stop at the intersection.

Frost was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in her car, 18-year-old Shelby Spencer, of Troy, PA, was flown via medical helicopter to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre for treatment of moderate injuries.

Heitzenrater was uninjured in the crash. He will be cited for failing to yield to a stop sign.

Police say Frost was driving on a suspended license.

The road was closed for several hours following the accident.

An investigation into the crash continues.
