"To Fill A Backpack" Desperately Needs Your Help!!

The “To Fill A Backpack” program has received minimal donations for their 2010-2011 collection year.  We are in to our 3rd week of collecting and we have received $500 or less in monetary donations and the supply donations have been minimal.

In 2008 we gave out 275 backpacks and in 2009 we gave out 375 backpacks to children in need.  In 2010 because of our expansion in to the Wellsboro, Elkland and Westfield area we are hoping to be able to help 500 children or more.

At this time we are hoping to start packing the first weekend of August so that we are able to start distributing by the 2nd week.  We do have supplies that we carried over from last year but probably not enough to cover the amount of children that we plan on helping this year.  If you are interested in making a supply donation you can drop it off at one of the locations shown below or you can send a monetary donation to: To Fill A Backpack – Attn: Donations – 81 Burleson Avenue – Roulette, PA  16746.

To all that have sent in their donations already…Thank You….to those who are planning to donate…we Thank You in advance…to those of you who aren’t sure that you want to donate…think of a child going to school without the supplies they need because their family can’t afford it.  This program was started to help give a child a sense of being in the crowd because they have a backpack like everyone else.  You may think that a backpack could not make a difference…I’m sorry but we beg to differ with you.  We had a child that was having trouble in school…for one thing because he didn’t have a backpack like everyone else.  The school called, we got the child a backpack and things turned around.  We know that the backpacks will not take a “C” student to an “A” student but it can definitely help make a difference.
