Two Dead after Head-On Collision with Tanker Truck on Route 6

Two men are dead and another injured after a pickup truck collided head-on with a water tanker truck on Route 6 in West Burlington Township earlier today.

Police say 46-year-old Jeffrey L. Lyman, of Tioga, was driving a Ford F-550 East on Route 6 in Bradford county when he crossed into oncoming traffic while rounding a curve in the roadway.

Lyman’s truck veered into the path of a Peterbilt water tanker driven by 52-year-old Yuren H. Wemmer, of Spencer, colliding head-on with the tractor-trailer.

Both Lyman and his passenger, Michael F. Lewis, 29, of Lawrenceville, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Wemmer was taken to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre for treatment of injuries.

Route 6 was closed for approximately 6 hours, re-opening at 11 am this morning, due to the crash.
