Unimaginable Destruction in Japan

The Japanese people, first rocked by an earthquake measuring 8.9 on the richter scale and then slammed by a tsunami reaching as fas as 6 miles inland, are facing a disaster likely to dwarf that of Katrina.

A tide of bodies washed ashore today as countless thousands are still missing. Humanitarian aide from around the world is now pouring into Japan as parts of the country are without food, water, shelter and gas.

The injured overwhelm hospitals and makeshift medical clinics.
