Update on Yesterday Morning's MVA

AUSTIN – Robert E. Warriner, 75, of Austin, was driving his 2007 Dodge Caliber north when he was blinded by the sun and crossed into the southbound lane causing a head on collision with a Ford F-350 pickup truck driven by Harley D. Purcell, 22, of Emporium.

Warriner attempted to bring his Caliber back into the southbound lane once he could see, but his vehicle impacted Purcell’s F-350 as Purcell crossed into the lane himself in an attempt to avoid hitting Warriner.

Warriner’s vehicle struck the passenger side of the F-350 causing severe damage to the car, and resulting in only minor injuries to Warriner.

Warriner was cited for Roadways Laned for Traffic.
