Virginia Olive F. Taylor, 86, of Gifford

Virginia Olive F. Taylor, 86, of Gifford, died Monday (January 10, 2011) in the Bradford Regional Medical Center, Bradford.

She was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Candor, NY, a daughter of Harry and Alice Fields. On Nov. 2, 1941, in Wellsville, NY, she married John G. Taylor, Jr., who died August 23, 1997.

Mrs. Taylor was a housewife tending to the needs of her family.

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, camping, fishing, and watching television.

She is survived by
one daughter: Judy A. Spaulding of Gifford, PA
three sons: Terry L. Taylor of Little Genessee, NY; Leonard L. Taylor of Aiken, PA; and John G. Taylor, III of Enterprise, AL
9 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren
Brother in law: William (Faye) Taylor of Gifford
Sister in law: Dorothy “Dot” Kenneson of Coleville
And several nieces and nephews

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon M. Confer.

There will be no visitation.  A Remembrance Gathering will be held on Sunday, Jan. 16, from 2-6 PM at the Hilltop Fire Hall.  All are invited and encouraged to bring a dish to pass and share memories of Virginia’s life with the family. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport.
