Yamaha/Kenworth Crash in Lawrenceville

Investigator David Rausher reports on a crash that occurred 4-6-12 at 3:20 pm at SR287 at its intersection with Foster Road in Lawrenceville, PA.  The crash occurred when a 1979 Yamaha motorcycle operated by Andrew R. Miller, 23, of Lawrenceville was travelling north in the southbound lane of SR287.  The motorcycle struck the driver’s side running board of the power unit of a 2010 Kenworth driven by William L. Townsend, 66, of Fairmont, West Virginia, which was travelling northwest, turning left from SR 287 onto Foster Road.  The Yamaha rolled onto its side and came to rest in the eastbound lane of Foster Road at its intersection with 287.  Miller was transported by family to Arnot Ogden Medical Center for injury to his right foot/ankle.  The Yamaha was removed from the scene by a private party.  Miller was not wearing protective foot gear.  Miller was cited for Limitations on Driving on Left Side of Roadway and Careless Driving.
