‘A Way Out’ Welcomes Volunteers, Donations

1 min read

Volunteers are needed to help A Way Out, the domestic violence and sexual assault advocacy and awareness organization serving Potter County. The agency provides services and support to about 200 individuals annually. A Way Out Director Freda Fultz, shown at far right during a memorial service for domestic violence victims, pointed out that because of financial limits, the agency counts on volunteers. Opportunities include manning the organization’s 24-hour hotline, providing advocacy, clerical work and helping with fund-raising. A Way Out is also seeking volunteers to serve on the agency’s board of directors.

Financial donations are also needed to help supplement the budget, paying for items such as gas cards to enable victims to access the help and grocery certificates to pay for items which can’t be purchased with food stamps.

For information on donating or becoming a volunteer, call A Way Out at 274-0368. Individuals experiencing domestic violence or sexual assault should call the 24-hour helpline toll-free at 1-877-334-3136.
