AUSTIN – According to the Endeavor News, seven area juveniles are facing charges of Underage Drinking among other related offenses, following a November 1 arrest in Austin.
Austin Police Chief Kyle Day said the arrests were the result of an anonymous tip from a resident, who reported, “juveniles walking up and down Foster St. drinking beer.” The report led Day to the residence of Karen Landen and John Peterson, where it was discovered that seven juveniles were drinking illegally.
Day said that as a result of his investigation he was able to also determine who purchased the alcohol for the youth. Subsequently, charges of Furnishing Alcohol to Minors are pending against Sloane Earle of Austin.
According to Day, Landen and John Peterson will also be cited for Corruption of Minors, for allowing the underage drinking party to take place at their residence.
Coudersport Borough police assisted Day on scene.
