State Reports Improvement In County’s Jobless Rate

It’s too early to call it a trend, but the most recent jobless rates released by the state show a brighter employment picture in the region. The Center for Workforce Information and Analysis reported that Potter County’s unemployment rate was 10.6 percent in September, down from August’s 11.4 percent and better than the 11.2 percent jobless rate of September 2009. Pennsylvania’s statewide rate was 9.0 percent in September and 9.2 percent in August.
