Bradford Investors Ask What Happened to Movie 'Little Chicago'

A small advertisement appearing recently in The Bradford Era has brought to mind an old, yet recurring question — whatever happened to the film “Little Chicago?”
Veno says there was a “downfall with one of the top actors” that made the production company temporarily turn its attention to a documentary, “The Last Prohibition Witnesses.” The documentary, he said, is doing well and is being leased to Monarch Films for worldwide distribution.
“Once this documentary starts moving into Europe and taking off, we’re on our way,” Veno said.
While the film seems to be at a standstill, the production company has still been leasing a storefront in a plaza along Forman Street. However, Veno said, that lease is likely ending, as the Save-A-Lot grocery store wants to expand.
“The only thing that holds you back is stars,” he said. “The money is always a problem.”
At the same time, Veno says he’s still reeling from an article in The Era a year ago saying the future of the movie was uncertain. He says Bradford City Mayor Tom Riel had no right to say the future didn’t look good.
