State officials recently honored Dolores Buchsen, who has retired after 38 years of service at the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum in Potter County. Although Dolores had politely declined her many friends’ offers to hold a retirement party, two state lawmakers found another way to honor the respected site director.
During a luncheon at the museum, she was presented with a commendation from the Pennsylvania General Assembly, presented by Chuck Dillon, district aide to Senator Joe Scarnati, and Suzan Paisley, representing State Rep. Martin Causer.
Buchsen started as an exhibit designer when the museum was being built in the early 1970s. She remains on the scene as a volunteer to help prepare the facility for its major expansion and renovation next year.
