No Help From Federal Government For Repairing Flood Damage

Federal officials have informed emergency management agencies across Pennsylvania that there will be no funding coming to help with cleanup and repairs from the widespread flooding of Dec. 1. The news was especially disappointing to the Roulette Township Supervisors, who pegged damage to roads, bridges and other public facilities at $1.1 million.
Potter County Emergency Management Coordinator Glenn Dunn confirmed that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) declined to declare Pennsylvania a disaster area eligible for federal funds. That’s because documented flood damage, reported in 18 of the state’s 67 counties, failed to reach a threshold that triggers disaster relief under FEMA’s formula. The director said townships and boroughs might be able to qualify for financial assistance from PennDOT to repair roads and bridges.
Thank you FEMA. The state comes up here takes our timber, sells our forest to gas company’s and the land to foreign country for wind mills. Rape Pennsylvania and we get nothing back. But down state and the slush fund for the fat cats in Harrisburg comes from here. Thank you Rendell can’t wait soon to vote your butt out of office.
