Bridge Walkways in Coudersport Completely Cleaned

1 min read

A quick check this morning showed that the bridges in Coudersport had been completely shoveled and salted.

While work still remains, this is great news for those who have been concerned about the sidewalk maintenance in town.

There still remains sections of sidewalk in town that have seen little to no maintenance since the beginning of this winter. One such area is the section in front of the ‘abandoned Adelphia house’, which sits next to the bowling alley.

The sidewalk there offers nothing more than a beaten down path through the snow, with packed ice under-foot. A nuisance at best, and a safety hazard at worst.

While I believe I know whom the property owner is, I cannot be one-hundred percent certain at this time, but intend to find out.

I will provide an update once I have done so.

  1. You are right!! But look at all the sidewalks left undone by the residents. Why should their mail be delivered when they do not comply with ordinance regulations.

  2. Several children walk to and from school each day. Residents who “do not” maintain their sidewalks are putting those children at risk! It’s so unfortunate that it takes a tragedy for people to think about being responsible. Local officials should have been addressing these issues long before now!
