HORSEHEADS — When he heard a blast and felt his house shake Wednesday morning, Ernie Parker was certain what had just happened.

“When the house shook this morning, I knew right away what it was,” Parker said several hours after an explosion ripped apart a one-story house at 198 Joseph St. in Horseheads, killing a baby and leaving an adult and a teenager injured.
