Angood Promotes ‘Run for the Son’ Bike Run
1 min readRon Angood, a Coudersport resident and active member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association, spoke with Rotary Club members earlier this week seeking sponsors for this year’s “Run for the Son”; an annual fundraising event aimed toward providing literature and education to adults and children living in countries which have banned Christian teachings.
Ron explained that a portion of the money raised by the Association is allocated to the “Brother Andrew’s Open Door Mission” which smuggles bibles into countries where it is banned. Most often, the bibles are then cut into sections and secretively passed from one family to another in order to avoid detection and retaliation by the country’s military and leadership. The Association also sponsors “The Jesus Film Project”, the production of a film about Jesus which is then translated into all dialects and then used by missionaries.
“However, forty-percent of the money raised through the sponsorship of local motorcyclists like me, goes toward the religious outreach to other motorcyclists,” stated Ron. The Christian Motorcyclists Association provides religious teachings to motocyclists at rallies, tours, races, etc and conducts worship services at these events whenever possible.
Anyone wishing to sponsor Ron in his upcoming motorcycle run should send their check or cash donation to Ron Angood at 501 Southeast Street, Coudersport, PA 16915. Checks should be made payable to “CMA” and all donations are tax-deductible. Ron can also be reached by calling (814) 274-8867.
