Potter County Education Council will offer a “WordPress Course” at PCEC Coudersport. WordPress is a free, Web-based software program that anyone can use to build and maintain a website or blog. WordPress can be used to run full-sized, social media-rich websites.
Learn WordPress, the 21st century free web software that has over 385,000 users. Get hands-on training setting up your web site. Students must be experienced in personal computer use and web browsing. There are four main reasons why you should learn how to use WordPress to set up a new website: (1) WordPress designs are based on “Themes,” (2) WordPress software allows you to create and edit new web pages and blog “posts” using only a web browser, (3) The blogging features in WordPress allow you to update your website/blog frequently, (4) There are many more features of a WordPress website or blog that make it much better than a traditional “static”, “brochure-style” website. This two part course will be held on Thursday, June 2nd and 9th from 6 – 9 p.m. Cost for the course is $69 per person. Inbound Marketing Class Coming Your Way
The Potter County Education Council will hold an “Inbound Marketing Class” at the Couderport Office. We’ve all heard that there is a huge opportunity to grow our businesses by using the Internet. This session provides the overview of how to make it happen. We are pleased to offer you a great opportunity to start planning your informed web marketing strategy by getting a better understanding of: * Your options for online marketing and realistic expectations for returns, * The best ways to drive visitors and produce leads online, * How to engage in social media for your business and not spend all day doing it, * Why a blog can lead to sales and the

How to Get the Most Out of Your Digital Camera with Curt Weinhold
Learn the proper method to maximize image quality from your camera. We will work with your point & shoot or your Digital SLR to learn how to input a scene or portrait image and progressing to downloading to the computer; save and edit picture files; both jpeg and RAW files; and explore software from premium priced Photoshop to free downloads for your computer. Please bring your camera, any extra lenses and a memory card. This course will be held at PCEC’s Galeton location at the Galeton High School on Saturday, May 14 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Cost for the course is $29. PCEC Offers ServSafe Food Safety Course
ServSafe is a 15-hour certification program developed by the Restaurant Association Education Foundation. The course meets certification requirements for individuals who are responsible for the safe handling of food in restaurants, schools, elder care facilities, lodges, bed & breakfasts, community centers, and other food concessions (organizations or businesses that sell or prepare food on a regular basis). As of January 22nd there will be no recertification, all persons wanting to be approved in ServSafe will have to take the two-day course and take the test. The class will be held on May 17 and 24 at the Coudersport Office. Hours for the course are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the cost will be $180 per person and includes a text book. PCEC to Offer Cooking for Crowds
Non-profit, volunteer-run groups that prepare food to be served or sold to the public must be sure that the food is safe and of high quality. Participants in this workshop will learn up-to-date methods for safely handling and preparing food for large groups. The workshop is appropriate for non-profit food providers such as churches, fire companies, schools, and civic groups. The course will be held on Tuesday, May 17th at the Coudersport office.
