1 min readSWEDEN TWP. – The Sweden Township Police Department has sponsored two youth to participate in the 2011 Northern Tier Camp Cadet program.
Camp Cadet is a summer camp for boys and girls from Pennsylvania between the ages of 12 to 15. The camp is held at various locations throughout Pennsylvania and staffed by Troopers, local police officers and many other volunteers. The goal of Camp Cadet is to introduce participants to the diverse criminal justice system and establish a positive relationship with law enforcement personnel.
Shown on the left is 12-year-old Aaron Haskins and 12-year-old Chance Ayers, along with Sweden Township Police Chief Bryan Phelps.
Aaron is the son of Ronald and Dawn Haskins. Chance is the son of Joe and Donell Ayers.
Great to see young men (and women) continue to participate in Camp Cadet. As a native of Sweden Valley and a 24 year career with the PSP as a spokesman for the Department, Camp Cadet is a tremendous opportunity for youngsters to be involved with law enforcement.
