Marcellus Shale Infrastructure Summit 2011

2 min read

As productivity from both dry and wet areas in the Marcellus continues to grow, so does the need for rapid and cost effective infrastructure build out to take Shale Gas and NGL’s to market. The 2nd Summit in American Business Conferences’ hugely successful Marcellus Shale Gas series – the Marcellus NGL & Shale Gas Infrastructure Summit 2011 focuses specifically on how the key E&P, Midstream and Transmission companies and regulators can develop new strategies and partnerships for driving forward infrastructure development. This exciting new Summit, uniquely addressing cost, capacity and ROI concerns for Marcellus infrastructure takes place August 24-25, 2011 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.

The event will feature leading industry figureheads from:

  • E&Ps, Midstream and Transmission companies from areas throughout the Marcellus
  • Key Government Regulators, particularly those working within permitting
  • Industry End-Users of Marcellus product, including plastics companies and Petrochems

Program highlights include a keynote opening panel discussion on ROI for infrastructure build out, kicking off with Jack Lafield, CEO of Caiman Energy. Later in the day, Chesapeake VP Scott Rotruck will be providing an insight into what West Virginia and the Marcellus Manufacturing Task Force are doing to encourage the building of a cracker, and Russell Mahan, VP of El Paso, will be speaking on strategies for installing and upgrading a wet pipeline system. Permitting also remains a crucial topic, with Scott Hans, Chief of the Regulatory Division, US Army Corp of Engineers addressing processes and requirements for regulatory reviews.

As the Marcellus NGL & Shale Gas Infrastructure Development Summit 2011 gathers pace, the initiative is pleased to announce new key speakers including Andrew Morrison, VP of Economics from Statoil, who will be kicking off Day 2 with an E&P perspective, including the role that the Marcellus has in overall strategy for US exploration and a producer’s view on bottlenecking; Mike McGehee, Head of the Division of  Pipeline Certificates at FERC will be on hand to discuss a range of infrastructure projects from both a regulatory and engineering viewpoint; Randy Nickerson and Scott Garner of Markwest will also be lending their support to the initiative with their extensive experience in the Marcellus, plus Spectra Energy Transmission.
