Man Escapes Injury after Swerving for Deer
1 min readKEATING TWP. – An Emporium man was uninjured after he swerved to miss two deer in the roadway and crashed his Ford Focus on July 20.
State Police say 84-year-old Bruno A. Carnovale was driving south on Cowley Hill Road, approximately one mile from Route 607, when he came upon two deer in the roadway.
Police say Carnovale swerved into the left hand lane to avoid the deer, at which point his car exited onto the left-hand shoulder. Carnovale was unable to regain control of his car and subsequently hit the guardrail.
His car suffered disabling damage in the crash and was towed from the scene by Ramsey’s Garage of Emporium.
Austin Volunteer Fire and Police assisted at the scene.
