Critical Shortage, Blood Drives Locally

CORRECTION: The blood drive at St. Eulalia Church in Coudersport on Thursday is sponsored by the American Red Cross, while the drive in Austin on Wednesday is for the Community Blood Bank. It should be noted that blood donated to the Community Blood Bank is used locally to treat patients at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital.

There is currently a critical blood shortage, and the Community Blood Bank is holding blood drives locally.

There will be a blood drive at the Austin Fire Hall on Wednesday, July 27 between 1 – 5 pm. Those attending this blood drive will be entered for a chance to win Rascal Flatts tickets for Darien Lake on August 12.

There will  also be a blood drive at the St. Eulalia Church in Coudersport on Thursday, July 28, starting at noon.

Anyone capable of donating blood is highly encouraged to do so.

Blood donated locally will be used to treat patients locally.
