Two Girls Injured after Trailer Comes Unhitched from ATV
SHARON TWP. – Two girls were injured after a small wooden trailer came unhitched from an ATV on Wednesday, August 10.
State Police say 59-year-old Nola J. Estes was operating the ATV on Canada Hollow Road when the trailer, which held two juvenile female occupants, hit a bump and came unhitched from the ATV, dumping the two girls onto the road.
Police say a 13-year-old female suffered minor injuries and a 12-year-old female suffered moderate injuries in the accident. Both were transported to CCMH for treatment.
Another 13-year-old girl who was riding on the ATV with Estes, was uninjured.
As a result of the accident, Estes faces charges of operating an ATV on public roads.
Shinglehouse Volunteer Fire and Ambulance assisted at the scene.
