Box Culvert Work on Route 3001 (East Fork Road) Scheduled Aug. 29 through Sept. 2

1 min read

AUSTINCrews from PennDOT Potter County Maintenance will begin work Aug. 29 to install a new box culvert along Route 3001 (East Fork Road) in the village of Conrad. The box culvert will replace the existing Conrad Bridge, in East Fork Township. This work is scheduled through Sept. 2. Work will begin at 6 a.m. Aug. 29 and last through 5 p.m. Sept. 2.

An official detour will be in place for the length of the project. The detour is lengthy and will make use of Route 44, Route 6, and Route 872.

The Conrad Bridge spans Wild Boy Run and carries an average of 204 vehicles per day. The bridge was built in 1952. The installation of the box culvert will eliminate the current 13-ton/22-ton posting on the bridge.

PennDOT advises drivers to obey posted speed limits and follow detour signs. For more information on roadway construction and maintenance operations, visit PennDOT’s website at www.dot.state.pa.us.
