Man Life-flighted following ATV Crash
1 min readHEBRON TWP. – A Rochester, NY man was flown to Robert Packer Hospital after an ATV crash on South Branch Road (SR 4008) in Hebron Township, October 6.
Police say 53-year-old Thomas Maira was driving a Polaris Sportsman 850 XP west when he lost control and exited the northern side of the roadway, striking an embankment and a ditch, and then rolling over several times.
Maira, who was not wearing a helmet, was unresponsive prior to the arrival of EMS.
Maira was flown by Lifeflight to Robert Packer Hospital where he was later released with minor injury.
Three other individuals riding with Maira at the time of the crash were cited with summary violations for operating an ATV on streets and highways, and failing to operate them in a safe manner.
Police say charges against Maira are pending.
