Whitney Creek Camp Destroyed in Overnight Fire

UPDATE: Coudersport Fire Department reports the structure to be a total loss. Neighbors reported hearing explosions before firemen arrived on scene. There were no injuries and the the fire remains under investigation by Coudersport Fire Department and the State Police Fire Marshalls Unit.

At approximately 1 am this morning, Coudersport and Shinglehouse Fire Departments were dispatched to 399 Whitney Creek Road for a reported structure fire.

Shortly after 1 am, fire personnel reported the structure to be completely burnt.

Reports indicate a possible gas leak or gas explosion.
